*This information will be updated Monday – Friday unless significant wildfire activity occurs.

Yesterday, Texas A&M Forest Service responded to 20 new requests for assistance on wildfires that burned 5,010 acres across the state.

Elevated fire weather is forecast statewide. There is an increased possibility of significant wildfires that are resistant to control occurring in Central, North Central and Southeast Texas today. The potential for crown fires in brush and timber fuels remains high despite a drop from critical to elevated fire weather. Elevated fire weather combined with dry to critically dry vegetation in Northwest and South Texas can produce fires that exhibit a moderate to high resistance to control.

There are currently 181 counties with burn bans in place.
