ATLANTA — Motorists who normally travel SH 154 in Gilmer will need to find an alternate route on Tuesday, August 15. Union Pacific plans to conduct maintenance work on their crossing on SH 154. As a result, the area will be closed to through-traffic on this date.
Traffic will be detoured on a signed route onto US 271, SH 155 and FM 49. Portable message boards have been placed near the railroad crossing to warn motorists of the scheduled road closure. The construction schedule and road closure can change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen problems.
