Video: Custom Commodities Transport execs Jordan Shipp and Corey Ellis @ Gilmer Rotary Club – Aug 8, 2023
David Lee Stevenson knew from his childhood that he was a Truck Driver. Playing with his boyhood toy model trucks, he would imagine himself behind the wheel of his own tractor, riding the lanes on the open road, making deliveries, and meeting new people. His dream was realized while working at his family’s feed store in Gilmer, TX where he learned the importance of Customer Service. In 1985, David Lee and his dad, Bill, started Custom Commodities Transport with a single 1977 cab-over Peterbilt that he drove himself moving feed and fertilizer anywhere the road would take him. It started as a childhood dream that became a reality, one truck at a time in the back office of his dad’s feed store, where the company’s worldwide headquarters remains today. The company has grown so much since then. We’re now 10 Terminals strong to support our Partners, advancing with changes in technology and transportation industry Best Practices.
At this meeting of the Gilmer Rotary Club at the Gilmer Civic Center on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2023, Mr. Stevenson has brought two of his executives to update the members on his firm’s progress.
