Road Rage Leads to Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest

DALLAS – On June 27, 2023, at 3:06 pm, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers were dispatched to a man with a gun on the eastbound lanes of President George Bush Turnpike near Preston Rd. During the investigation, DPS Troopers determined a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Christiano Pinheiro De Abreu, was road raging when he struck a 2008 Hyundai Sonata.

Both drivers pulled over, and Christiano pointed a firearm toward the driver of the 2008 Hyundai Sonata. A Federal Post Office Police Officer witnessed the assault and detained both drivers until DPS Troopers arrived. After the investigation, DPS Troopers arrested Christiano for two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked him into the Collin County Jail. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
