Friends,
Over the last week, our region has been devastated by a series of storms that left thousands of East Texans with damage to their homes and businesses, and many still waiting for power to return.
If your home or businesses was damaged in these storms, you can report that damage to the Texas Division of Emergency Management by clicking HERE. If you are still without power and in need of a place to escape the heat, an updated list of cooling centers is available HERE. If you need further assistance, please call the Texas Help Line at 2-1-1.
Thank you to our first responders who quickly jumped into action, and thank you to the city and county-level leaders and emergency management coordinators who provided an immediate course of action and served as a first point of contact for citizens needing assistance.

As a Member of the House Judiciary Committee, I had the opportunity to question former Special Counsel John Durham during a committee hearing this week and uncover the full extent of the corruption that stemmed from FBI leadership in their attempt to undermine the 2016 Presidential Election.
The Durham Report made clear that – during this investigation – the FBI did not follow its own long-standing investigative procedures. It didn’t interview key witnesses. It didn’t turn over exculpatory evidence to the investigative team. And, it proceeded with the investigation even when it could not corroborate a single allegation in the Steele dossier.
My full line of questioning can be viewed by clicking HERE, or on the video below. My full statement is available HERE.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee marked up my legislation, H.R. 4039 – No Dollars to Uyghur Forced Labor Act this week and subsequently approved it. This legislation will soon make its way to the House Floor for a vote.
No Dollars to Uyghur Forced Labor Act will prohibit American tax dollars from being used to purchase goods or products manufactured in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, an area where the CCP has notoriously exploited and coerced the Uyghur people into forced labor. We must oppose China’s malign influence, and this legislation will send a clear message that the United States will not condone the detainment and persecution of Uyghurs.

Thousands of East Texans depend on local radio to stay informed and be entertained. Thank you to Pat Stacey, Paul Gleiser, and other representatives from the Texas Broadcasters Association for joining me in Washington last week to discuss upcoming legislation, as well as share an update on my work to support local radio.

I enjoyed hosting my sixth Tele-Townhall earlier this week and having the opportunity to share resources, discuss the upcoming legislative agenda, and learn about the issues impacting East Texas. Thank you to all who joined – I am already looking forward to our next call.
With gratitude,
