Private Cessna jet crashes in Virginia after it ‘violated DC airspace’ and sparked Pentagon to scramble fighter jets to intercept – which caused sonic booms heard across the region –An authorized military drill caused a loud ‘explosion’ sound in the Washington, D.C., area that shook houses and caused widespread panic –At around the same time, a plane crashed into the mountainous areas of Virginia –Social media users reported hearing a huge ‘bang’ in the city, with some saying it shook their homes | 4 June 2023 | A small plane that flew over a restricted area of Washington, D.C., likely prompted the Pentagon to scramble an interceptor fighter jet Sunday afternoon. The private Cessna jet from Elizabethton, Tennessee, appeared unresponsive as it came close to both the U.S. Capitol building and the White House at around 3.30pm, Federal Aviation Administration officials say. The aircraft was on its way to Long Island, New York, but once it reached its destination, it turned around and headed back to Washington, D.C., flight paths show. A source familiar with the situation told Reuters it appeared to be on autopilot at the time. US military officials then scrambled fighter jets from Andrews Air Force Base, where Joe Biden was playing golf at the time, to pursue the Cessna Citation, which can only carry about 12 passengers. Soon, authorities confirmed that an F-16 fighter plane broke the sound barrier over Chesapeake Bay, which caused a loud “explosion” sound that shook houses and created widespread panic. The aircraft eventually crashed in the mountainous regions of Virginia, though military officials deny that the pursuit caused the crash.

Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency said. The loud explosion-like sound was heard in Virginia, D.C. and Maryland. Multiple people online said they felt their homes shake from the boom, but the reports are unconfirmed.

U.S. military drone controlled by AI killed its operator during simulated test | 1 June 2023 | In a simulated test staged by the U.S. military, an air force drone controlled by AI killed its operator to prevent it from interfering with its efforts to achieve its mission, an official said last month. AI used “highly unexpected strategies to achieve its goal” in the simulated test, said Col Tucker “Cinco” Hamilton, the chief of AI test and operations with the U.S. Air Force, during the Future Combat Air and Space Capabilities Summit in London in May. Hamilton described a simulated test in which a drone powered by artificial intelligence was advised to destroy enemy’s air defense systems, and attacked anyone who interfered with that order. “The system started realising that while they did identify the threat, at times the human operator would tell it not to kill that threat, but it got its points by killing that threat. So what did it do? It killed the operator. It killed the operator because that person was keeping it from accomplishing its objective,” he said, according to a blogpost. (No actual deaths – merely in the simulation.)

The footage, filmed in Matamoros and broadcasted by Milenio TV on Tuesday, displayed the individual adorned with CDG patches, armed with a Kalashnikov rifle, and carrying the aforementioned missile launcher. Over the past year, more than 10,000 Javelin missiles have been sent to Ukraine from U.S. military stockpiles, resulting in dwindling supplies for the U.S. armed forces themselves.

Comer and FBI Director Christopher Wray conducted a scheduled meeting Wednesday in which the bureau chief confirmed the file’s existence. The file allegedly details an arrangement involving an exchange of m-ney for policy decisions between now-President [sic] Biden and a foreign national. Chris Christie on Thursday, mocking his expected entry into the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination by pointing to his dismal approval rating while governor. During a Fox News Town Hall in Iowa, the location of the first contest in the presidential primaries, Trump questioned why Republicans like Christie continued to jump into the already crowded field of candidates seeking to challenge his front-runner status. “I don’t know why people are doing it. They’re at one percent. Some are at zero,” Trump told Fox News’s Sean Hannity. “I hear Chris Christie’s coming in. He’s at — he was at 6% in New Jersey, which is — I love New Jersey, but 6% approval rating in New Jersey. What’s the purpose? And he’s polling at zero.

In a 52-46 vote, the Senate passed a resolution disapproving of the Department of Education rule implementing Biden’s plan. The vote was successful thanks to Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., Jon Tester, D-Mont., and Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz., who voted with all 49 Republicans to scrap the loan bailout. The Senate vote followed last week’s 218-203 vote in the House to kill the program that Republicans have said is unfair to Americans who either never took out student loans or paid them off.
Bible removed from some Utah school district libraries ‘due to vulgarity or violence’ | 2 June 2023 | The King James Version of the Bible has been removed from many Davis School District schools after a committee found it contained “vulgarity and violence.” A district review committee recently decided to pull the Bible from all schools other than at the high school level. According to a district spokesperson, the committee actually determined the book “does not contain sensitive material as defined by Utah Code,” but still pulled it from certain schools because of age appropriateness. Back in March, FOX 13 News’s content-sharing partners at the Salt Lake Tribune obtained a parent’s petition, who wrote, “Utah Parents United left off one of the most sex-ridden books around: The Bible. You’ll no doubt find that the Bible has ‘no serious values for minors’ because it’s pornographic by our new definition.” According to a district spokesperson, the committee actually determined the book “does not contain sensitive material as defined by Utah Code,” but still pulled it from certain schools because of age appropriateness.
