Victory for Medical Freedom! HB44 Passes

Dear Friend,

We are thrilled to share that House Bill 44 (HB44) has successfully passed in the Texas legislature, marking a significant victory for medical freedom and protecting individuals from discrimination based on their immunization status!

A brief recap of HB44 is below:

  • Prohibition of Discrimination: HB44 ensures that CHIP and Medicaid healthcare providers cannot deny services or discriminate against individuals based on their immunization status. This critical protection guarantees that personal medical choices do not result in denial of essential care or unequal treatment.
  • Safeguarding Medical Freedom: The passage of HB44 upholds the principle that medical decisions should be made by individuals in consultation with their healthcare providers. It ensures that every Texan can exercise their right to make informed choices about immunization without fear of coercion or discrimination.

Together, we have achieved a milestone that will positively impact the lives of countless Texans. This success would not have been possible without your engagement with your elected officials, as it made a significant impact and helped propel HB44 forward. We deeply appreciate your dedication and commitment to protecting medical freedom in Texas.

Together, we have made a difference, and together, we will continue to protect and uphold medical freedom for all Texans.

Fighting Every Day for You,

Jackie Schlegel

PS: THANK YOU!

I would hope that this bill would help American citizens in Texas but unfortunately I think that it mainly helps those thousands of people who have never had all the shots that American children must have to attend school. Having lived all over Central and South America, I know from experience that most of these people have not been given even the most basic of shots.

Yes, I agree with your statement. If there is an outbreak of a shot would make things easier, then those without shots could get gravely ill.

How ironic for the republicans to pass a “medical freedom” bill while they are simultaneously not allowing women and trans individuals to make their own medical choices. The hypocrisy is smacking them in the face and yet there will still be some bootlicker who will reply to me that disagrees smh

      I totally agree with you!

It’s all well and good, but it’s interesting that “medical freedom” only applies when ‘they’ see fit. Where are a women’s right to medical freedom that should be between her and her doctor, to seek that freedom without coercion or discrimination.

Women have exactly the same rights as men. What they’re asking for is a special right – the right to have another human life ended. And, I’m so, so terribly sorry that you sickos can’t perform sex changes on children. Oh, what a scary world we live in when women can’t order the execution of babies, and MAPs can’t mutilate a child’s genitals.
