KC Online Fire Academy No. 1030 students complete training

Thirty students who were part of the Kilgore College Online Fire Academy No. 1030 wrapped up their onsite skills training and testing April 24.

The online fire academy consists of four months of online coursework followed by 11 days of hands-on skills training.

KC offers six online fire academies per year with a new academy beginning every other month.

The next online fire academy begins June 14 with onsite skills training set for Oct. 13-24.

The KC Fire Academy is recognized by the State of Texas as an Exemplary Program and is accredited by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and the State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association.

The KCFA Coordinator of Online Training is Assistant Director Kristi Simpson.

Director of the KCFA is Johnny Zackary.
