Festival of Steel concerts April 29 will feature artist Shelly Irvine, KC Steel Band, local musical groups

Kilgore College will host the first-ever Festival of Steel on Saturday, April 29, in Dodson Auditorium on the Kilgore campus.
The evening will feature a Guest Ensembles Concert at 5:30 (open to local musical groups), followed by a second concert at 8 p.m.
The 8 p.m. concert will feature renowned steel drum artist, builder, tuner and band leader, Shelly Irvine – along with bassist, Destin Ramos, and drummer, Daniel Reimer.
The Guest Ensembles Concert is set for 5:30 p.m. and is open to any area steel bands, percussion groups or jazz bands that perform styles of music including Caribbean, Latin, jazz or rock.
Guest groups or student performers will receive performance time and adjudication comments.
Both concerts are free of charge to attend.
