Small businesses across East Texas are being threatened by President Biden’s discriminatory environmental, social, and governance policies – otherwise known as “ESG.”
These policies prioritize a workforce based on diversity, rather than merit, while backing small businesses into a corner where they are forced to increase prices for customers. These policies harm both businesses and consumers. Even so, the President continues to strongarm small, family-owned businesses into supporting his woke agenda at the expense of growing small businesses and the economy.
Last week, I met with the Priefert Family, who have dedicated decades to growing their family business – Priefert Manufacturing. This business is just one of many in East Texas who will be harmed by President Biden’s predatory and unnecessary ESG proposals.
As your voice in Congress, I am committed to supporting East Texan businesses and will fight against all bad policy ideas coming from the Biden Administration that will threaten the livelihood of small businesses and East Texans. To learn more about my visit to Priefert Manufacturing, click HERE. |
If you have questions for me or would like to learn more about my work in Congress, I will be hosting my third Tele-Townhall on Monday, March 27th at 7:30 PM CT. These townhalls are a great way to speak directly with you and fellow East Texans and address the issues that you care about.
If you would like to participate, you can dial in by calling (888) 485-5170. I look forward to speaking with you!
The tele-townhall will also be streamed live on my Facebook page, linked HERE and on the image below. If you are unable to make the townhall live, it will also be available for viewing afterwards.

Last week, I met with Plant Manager Donnie Duffee of the SWEPCO Welsh Power Plant in Titus County, who led my team and me on a comprehensive tour of the coal-based plant. This plant is one of the main sources of electricity in East Texas. It keeps our homes and our businesses powered as a part of American Electric Power’s diverse energy strategy, and I was proud to learn more about how I can continue to stand strong for them and so many other companies in East Texas involved in the energy industry.
Energy production is a key industry here in East Texas. Under President Biden, efforts to unleash domestic energy production have been halted. Despite this, I will continue to promote energy production – here in East Texas and across the nation.

Law enforcement officers across East Texas work day in and day out to keep our communities safe and secure. While meeting with Franklin County Judge Scott Lee, Sheriff Ricky Jones, Commissioner Scott Smith, and Commissioner Jerry Cooper in Mount Vernon, we discussed the main issues facing the Franklin County community and the support Congress can provide to our officers.
I am proud to Back the Blue and will continue to work on behalf of our brave law enforcement officers.

Edna Morris was a dedicated public servant – one who loved her family, her community, and her Lord. I had the honor of working alongside Edna while serving as Smith County Judge, and recently had the opportunity to honor her life on the Floor of the House of Representatives.
Edna will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. My full speech is available by clicking HERE or on the video below.
