Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) to Host Grand Opening Celebration at New Gilmer Branch on March 25

Also on March 25, CUTX will partner with Live Gilmer and Outlaw BBQ Association to host a free concert at the 3rd annual Risk it for the Brisket event

 

 

GILMER, Texas, March 13, 2023 – On March 25, Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) will celebrate Gilmer with two free events for all Gilmer area residents. That morning, CUTX will mark the grand opening of its newest Gilmer branch with family-friendly festivities. Later that day, in partnership with Live Gilmer and Outlaw BBQ Association,  CUTX will host a free concert in Downtown Gilmer as a part of the 3rd annual “Risk It for the Brisket” cooking competition and street party.

CUTX Gilmer Branch Grand Opening Celebration

Beginning at 10 a.m. on March 25, CUTX will celebrate the grand opening of its new Gilmer branch located at 755 U.S. Highway 271. The opening marks CUTX’s continued East Texas expansion, which began with its first Commercial Solutions Center, which opened in the historic Gilmer Town Square last year.

Festivities celebrating the new branch opening will include free food and beverages from the CUTX food truck, Community Grill, family-friendly entertainment, giveaways and tours of the newest CUTX branch.

Risk it for the Brisket Event

That same day, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., CUTX will host a free concert as part of Gilmer’s third annual Risk it for the Brisket. Attendees will enjoy live performances from noted Texas musicians and activities for all ages, including a local vendor fair, family-friendly entertainment, a beer garden, an axe-throwing tournament and an awards ceremony announcing the event’s $10,000 prize winner. The celebration will take place in downtown Gilmer at 100 West Tyler Street.

Live performances will include:

  • 1:00 p.m. – Danny Sharpe, a Kilgore, Texas-based lifelong musician, offers a wide variety of tunes in a performance you won’t want to miss.
  • 3:00 p.m.  – Casey Bakera talented singer, songwriter and dreamer whose songs and melodies strike the hearts of fans.
  • 6:00 p.m. – Clay Logan Banda new band out of Shreveport, LA, brings all your favorite classic country hits.
  • 8:00 p.m. – William Clark Greena Flint, TX, native, is a country singer and songwriter whose fifth studio album, Hebert Island, reached the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Country chart in 2018.
