BGC Racing to Celebrate 10th Annual FRESH 15 Race March 4, Race Expected to Sell Out

TYLER, Feb. 24, 2022 – Brookshire Grocery Co. is excited to host the 10th annual FRESH 15 on Saturday, March 4, at the FRESH by Brookshire’s store located at 6991 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler. This is a special anniversary year for the FRESH 15 race and there are limited number of runner registration spots still available.  

The FRESH 15 event will feature 15K, 5K and Lil’ FRESHie 1K races, with courses starting and finishing at FRESH by Brookshire’s and cheering support along the way from volunteers, DJs and bands. More than 80 runners are registered who have run every year since the inaugural race, and more than 60 percent of runners are returning participants. 

Every race participant will receive incredible race swag including a finisher’s medal, finisher’s apparel item and free high-resolution race photos. Participants and spectators are invited to join the post-race “Party on the Pavement” at FRESH by Brookshire’s featuring free food, vendors and live music by Time Machine.

Packet Pickup 

Runners can pick up their packets from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 2; 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 3, or from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 4. Packet pickup will be at the FRESH by Brookshire’s parking lot. Friends and/or family members may pick up packets for each other as long as they provide a digital or paper copy of the photo ID of the athlete.  

Race Day Road Closures 

The FRESH 15 routes provide a scenic view of South Tyler. Tyler Police, BGC Racing staff and volunteers will be on hand to direct traffic. Some roads will be temporarily closed during the race. Three Lakes Parkway and Highlands Lane will be closed from 6 a.m. until race finish. Old Jacksonville Highway and Dueling Oaks Drive will close intermittently from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. There will be a staggered start for easier traffic flow.

Community Impact 

The FRESH 15 was established in 2014 to provide a world-class race that promotes wellness and supports the community. One hundred percent of race revenue is donated to local nonprofit organizations that provide strength, stability and safety for families, with more than $1,253,000 raised in nine years. BGC Racing hosts two races each year, the FRESH 15 and Heroes Run in Bossier City, La.

 

Runner Perks 

A prize purse totaling $22,000 will be awarded to top, in-person finishers within several categories for the 15K and 5K races. Current Tyler, Texas, residents are eligible for the Local Legends awards, with cash prizes awarded to the top three male and female 15K finishers.
