TPPF Celebrates the Legacy of Red McCombs

AUSTIN — Today, the family of Red McCombs announced that he passed away on Sunday at the age of 95. The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s CEO Greg Sindelar released the following statement:

“Red McCombs was a successful entrepreneur and businessman, a thoughtful and kind philanthropist, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a truly inspiring life story that embodied all the greatness of what it means to be Texan. We remember him as a fighter for liberty and free market principles, contributing significantly to critical public policy issues and conservative causes – without which Texas would be a very different place. In 2021, he was the recipient of TPPF’s highest award, the Sam Houston Award, because he exuded the principles of individual freedom, hard work, and personal responsibility. Our hearts go out to his family as we keep them in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

Texas Public Policy Foundation is a non-profit free-market research institute based in Austin that aims to foster human flourishing by protecting and promoting liberty, opportunity, and personal responsibility.
