Longview Paws and the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center Receive $1,012 Donation
January 30, 2023 – LONGVIEW: As part of its recent Grand Opening events in Longview, Chuy’s, the Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant, held a special fundraiser to benefit The Martin House Children’s Advocacy Center. On Wednesday, January 11th, Chuy’s General Manager Brandon Hurdle presented a $4,616.27 check to The Martin House’s Executive Director, Roxanne Stevenson.
“We already feel at home here in Longview and East Texas and are grateful for the warm welcome we have received,” said Hurdle. “It is just one of many reasons we are so proud to support the vital work and the mission of the Martin House to protect our community’s children.”
Chuy’s Longview also raised $1,012 for Longview Paws and the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center for its popular Dog Wall featured in the bar area. Customers submitted photos of their beloved pooches to be featured on the wall, and for every submission Chuy’s donated $1. “Our famous dog wall is always a big hit, and the response has been overwhelming in Longview,” Hurdle added.
“We are grateful to Chuy’s for selecting The Martin House as their community partner throughout the Grand Opening,” stated Stevenson. “The money raised will help ensure that every child who is a victim of abuse has the opportunity to be heard, protected, and receive the needed services for their continued safety and wellbeing.”
