Video Shows Police Killing Black Man Crouched in the Fetal Position
Attorneys say Anthonhy Franklin clearly posed no threat to officers who opened fire

Attorneys for Anthony Marquis Franklin, the 30-year-old black man who was shot and killed by Officers Kelby Radford, Ryan Rawlins and Jacob Bowman with the Austin Police Department (APD), released the following statement in response to APD earlier today releasing body-worn camera footage of the shooting.
The statement reads as follows:
“The video makes it absolutely clear. Anthony Franklin was on the ground crouched in the fetal position when these officers opened fire, shooting him in the back and killing him. In other words, while most of us were celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, Anthony Franklin was taking his last breaths because these officers thought they were gunslingers instead of peace officers.
“Austin may be in Texas, but it’s not the Wild West and you don’t get to appoint yourself judge, jury and executioner whenever you want.”
Franklin’s family is represented by national Civil Rights attorney Harry Daniels and Nathaniel Mack III. Daniels has gained national prominence as an attorney for clients including Andrew Brown Jr., Kastellio Vaughan and Jarrett Hobbs, the 41-year-old black man beaten by officers with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Marquis Franklin attempted to murder someone, cops found him – he played the “I’m black game with a gun in his hand” and got shot for his trouble. Moral of the story. Don’t attempt to murder someone, run and claim its okay to do so for the simple reason of your skin color – we (all colors of Texans) don’t play that game, this aint CalTardia.
Who writes this trash? The man was AN ACTIVE SHOOTER. He was identified by witnesses who being SHOT AT.

The lawyer is lying scum. What the video clearly shows is that the officers opened fired almost as soon as Franklin hit the ground after jumping off the porch in attempted flight from police. The video clearly shows that Franklin hit the ground during an attempt to flee. The video clearly shows that Franklin hit the ground in while still holding the gun he had already used to shoot one person. The video clearly shows that the officers opened fire well before Franklin began to crouch in a fetal position. It is likely he crouched because he had already been hit. If the attorney presents his lame lie to a jury, his case will fail and rightly so.
This is the kind of bullshit reporting that causes unnecessary tension between races!! The little asshole was killing people. He had a gun and he was running. The cops did the right thing. Why do the headlines always say ‘black man’ instead of ‘man’? This country has completely forgotten about the black cops that brutally murdered a black man a month or so back. I predicted then that it would get swept under the rug. Where were the riots? Where was Al Sharpton? Why wasn’t a monument erected in honor of the victim? Anyone that buys into bullshit stories like this are part of the problem. It’s black people who are separating themselves from everyone else. They feel that they deserve special treatment. Organizations that specifically cater to blacks exist, black television channels, black colleges. Imagine white folks doing that crap. Is there an NAAWP? It’s really simple. Get off your asses and work. Go to school. You are afforded the same opportunities as everyone else and then some. Blacks are the privileged race. Yes, I’m angry and bitter.
