County: Grayson.
Starting Location: FM-84 near U.S. 69, Denison, TX.
Ending Location: 503 Paradise Park Rd, Pottsboro, TX
Vehicle: 2001 Ford F150
Driver: Donald Ray Johnson Jr, male, 37 YOA, from Pottsboro, TX.
Charges:
- Parole Violation (warrant) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
- Parole Violation (warrant) – Possession of Controlled Substance PG1 4g – 200g w/Intent to Deliver.
- Aggravated Assault W/Deadly Weapon.
- Aggravated Assault W/Deadly Weapon.
- Evading Arrest with Vehicle.
- Reckless Driving.
- Driving with License Invalid with Previous Conviction without Financial Responsibility.
Description: Preliminary investigation indicates a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper initiated a traffic stop on a 2001 Ford F150 for a traffic violation. The driver refused to stop, and pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the fleeing driver attempted to strike a DPS patrol vehicle and a Pottsboro PD patrol vehicle on separate occasions. The pursuit ended at approximately 10:48 a.m. after the driver drove across spike strips at the gate to the Paradise Cove Campground. The driver ran into the woods and a Grayson County Sheriff’s Office K9 tracked him down and was subsequently arrested. The driver was charged and booked into the Grayson County jail. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional information is available.
