JCU MBB CONTINUES ROAD SLATE AT TOUGALOO

JACKSON, Mississippi – The Jarvis Christian men’s basketball team will play its fourth-straight road game on Monday when the Bulldogs travel to Tougaloo College for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.

 

The Bulldogs sit at 2-1 on the season as the last three contests have been exhibitions that do not count toward the season record.

 

Tougaloo comes into the matchup with a 6-0 overall record. The Bulldogs defeated Louisiana Christian University (70-47) and John Melvin University (96-56) over the weekend.

 

JCU and Tougaloo split a home and home series last season as JCU won 65-59 in Hawkins before losing to Tougaloo, 78-64 in Jackson.

 

Jakari Jackson leads JCU in scoring as he is averaging 13.3 points per game this season. James Phillip Russell and Jakobe Dill are both averaging 12.7 points per game to start the season.

 

Jorden Clark leads the team in boards as he is averaging 10.7 rebounds per game. Clark is also averaging a team high 75% from behind the three-point line to contribute to his average of nine points scored per game. On the defensive side, Tory Cargo has averaged 2.3 steals a game to go along with 6.3 points per game.
