JCU MBB HITS THE ROAD FOR TEXARKANA CLASSIC

TEXARKANA, Texas – The Jarvis Christian University men’s basketball team will head to the Texarkana Classic this weekend to play Wiley College and Rust College.

 

The Bulldogs will play Wiley on Friday at 3 p.m. before facing Rust on Saturday for a 4 p.m. tip.

 

JCU is 0-1 on the year after dropping the season opener at Dillard University, 77-60. The first opponent of the weekend will be the Wildcats from Wiley who are riding a three-game win streak after losing the season opener to Central Baptist College. The Bulldogs will then play Rust, who is 2-3 to start the year and winners of their last two contests. Rust took down fellow Red River Athletic Conference member LSU – Alexandria, 82-73 on Monday.

 

Jorden Clark led the Bulldogs with 14 points in the season opener as he also pulled in a team high eight rebounds. Jakari Jackson, Tory Cargo, and James Phillip Russell all also scored in the double figures. Jackson led the team with six assists, while Cargo led the team in steals with five.
