LAMAR PULLS AWAY IN SECOND HALF TO DOWN JCU IN EXHIBITION, 78-55

BEAUMONT – The Jarvis Christian women’s basketball led by one at the break before the Cardinals from Lamar University outscored the Bulldogs, 49-25 in the second half to pull away and earn a 78-55 win on Friday night.

 

As an exhibition game, the loss will not count toward JCU’s overall record for the season.

 

Faith Robinson led the Bulldogs in points as she scored 16 in the contest. Robinson was 6-13 in field goals, 1-2 in three pointers, and a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line. She was just short of another double-double as she pulled in seven rebounds.

 

Raniya White posted eight points to go along with two rebounds and an assist. Ne’khyria Rogers scored seven points. She also pulled in seven rebounds and recorded two assists. Micah McCrae, Jazmin Sanders, and Tarondia Harold each scored six points.

The Bulldogs travel to Huntsville on Wednesday to face Sam Houston State for another exhibition game. Tipoff is slated for 6:30 p.m.
