Kilgore College will host Veterans Day Celebration Nov. 10
Kilgore College will host its annual Veterans Day Celebration Thursday, Nov. 10, to honor all veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
The college will host a VIP Registration/Advising event from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Watson Library for students – especially veterans – who are interested in signing up for classes at KC.
At 11 a.m. a special ceremony in the Lee Mall/Mike Miller Plaza will honor all veterans who sacrificed their lives and the military personnel who currently serve in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.
The ceremony will honor Army veteran and KC student Christopher Bailey (First Class E-7), who will receive a “Hero Plaque.”
Bailey served more than 14 years of active duty in the U.S. Army which makes him the longest-serving veteran currently enrolled at KC.
He served deployment overseas in Iraq and Korea and worked with the Bradley Fighting Vehicle MOS (Military Operational Specialty).
Bailey was awarded multiple medals including the Meritorious Service, Army Commendation, Army Achievement, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct, National Defense, Global War on Terrorism, Iraq Campaign and Korean Defense Service medals.
