Artwork by Madison Branch on display in Turk Fine Arts Gallery through Dec. 8

The Kilgore College Visual Arts Department presents selections by artist Madison Branch through Dec. 8 in the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Gallery on the Kilgore campus.

The art show, “Make Room,” features large scale oil paintings and smaller mixed media collages.

A reception and talk by Branch will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the gallery.  The reception will be catered by KC Culinary Arts students.

“Branch’s work uses abstract imagery to explore the means through which an individual constructs their sense of self,” said Coy Lothrop, KC art instructor and gallery director. “Her goal is to create pieces which embody the idea that a person is not a discrete entity, but a mosaic of experiences.”

Branch earned a Bachelor of Fine arts in 2018 and a Master’s of Fine Arts in 2021 from UT Tyler.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Admission is free.
