HAWKINS – Hariklia Sotelo and Mitzy Guereca combined to score five goals Saturday afternoon in a 5-1 win over North American at the Jarvis Soccer Field.


The Bulldogs even their record at 3-3 on the year as conference play approaches next week.


North American struck first as Reese Thayer scored on an assist by Maguy Mubuto in the 4th minute to claim the 1-0 lead.


JCU took control for the rest of the contest though as the Bulldogs scored five straight goals en route to the 5-1 victory.


Sotelo booted in her first goal of the day in the 4th minute on an assist by Angie Rivera. Sotelo scored again in the 25th minute. Leslie Guereca was credited for the assist. Sotelo scored again in the 50th minute to claim the hat trick. Kayla Ochoa assisted with that goal.


Mitzy Guereca scored in the 32nd minute on an assist by Veronica Gutierrez. She then scored again in the 83rd minute. Elvira Torres was credited with the assist.


Goalkeeper Hailey Rivera allowed one goal while picking up four saves in the win.
