TEXARKANA, TX – Today, Jrmar “JJ” Jefferson announced the start of his campaign’s seventh complete tour of Texas Congressional District 1. Throughout September and into October, JJ will be visiting 100 cities and communities, large and small, within TX-1 to speak directly with voters about the importance of this election and to register new voters in East Texas. Details for events will be announced publicly, and the campaign intends to livestream via social media platforms.

“This week, my life was threatened as I was pumping gas and meeting fellow East Texans. He gestured his active gas pump toward me and said “I ought to hose you down and set you on fire”. Instead of ceding this election to hateful people, I’m going to gas up again and hit the road. I’m traveling to all 17 counties within TX-1, organizing multiple events, canvasses and voter registration drives per day, throughout the remainder of September and October.

“From Hemphill to Texarkana, from Mount Pleasant to Henderson, folks need to see that we won’t be deterred. And they need to see that, even after a dangerous event, I am more inspired than ever to put in the work and earn their votes. It’s time to bring opportunity and prosperity to East Texas.”
