JCU MEN’S WRESTLING EXPANDS RECRUITING FOOTPRINT WITH NEWEST COMMITS

HAWKINS – Jarvis Christian University Head Men’s Wrestling Coach Lance Brown announced another group of commits on Monday that will add to an already strong pool of talent at JCU.

Josh Cunningham, Deven Gary, Jose Fernandez, and Jacob Rainey are the newest additions to the JCU men’s wrestling program.

Cunningham comes to JCU out of Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio. Gary joins the JCU wrestling team after graduating from Cypress Woods High School in Cypress, Texas.

“Josh is quiet and loves wrestling,” Brown said. “He will be one to watch for and could make waves for us on the mat. Deven is very athletic with a passion for wrestling, and is a great addition.”

Fernandez is from Cordova, Tennessee and a graduate of Arlington High School. Rainey comes to JCU from Branson High School in Branson, Missouri.

“Jose is a tough and physical wrestler,” Brown said. “Jacob is a very smart wrestler on the mat and in the classroom.”

All four are on campus and training with the rest of the team as the JCU men’s and women’s wrestling programs go into their inaugural season this fall.
