JCU MEN’S SOCCER DROPS 2-1 DECISION TO TEXAS WESLEYAN IN SEASON OPENER
FORT WORTH – The Jarvis Christian University Men’s Soccer team was outlasted by Texas Wesleyan in a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs start the 2022 campaign 0-1.
JCU and Texas Wesleyan played a scoreless first half before Oscar Odriozola scored on an assit by Mathis Gouffroy in the 59th minute to give the Rams the lead.
Mario Herrera followed with another goal in the 61st minute on a penalty kick.
The Bulldogs answered with a goal in the 68th minute by Johan Arevalo. The goal cut the Rams lead in half, 2-1.
Texas Wesleyan would hold on to its lead for the last 22 minutes to claim the win.
