FBI seized Trump records shielded by attorney-client protection during raid, sources say –DOJ opposes request for independent review – sources | 13 Aug 2022 | The FBI seized boxes containing records covered by attorney-client privilege and potentially executive privilege during its raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, sources familiar with the investigation told Fox News, adding that the Justice Department opposed Trump lawyers’ request for the appointment of an independent, special master to review the records. Sources familiar with the investigation told Fox News Saturday that the former president’s team was informed that boxes labeled A-14, A-26, A-43, A-13, A-33, and a set of documents–all seen on the final page of the FBI’s property receipt–contained information covered by attorney-client privilege. The FBI seized classified records from Trump’s Palm Beach home during its unprecedented Monday morning raid, including some marked as top secret. But the former president is disputing the classification, saying the records have been declassified.
New twist in FBI raid: Trump had ‘standing order’ to declassify documents taken to residence | 13 Aug 2022 | Donald Trump’s office told Just the News on Friday that the classified materials the FBI seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate were declassified under a “standing order” while he was president that allowed him to take sensitive materials to the White House residence at night to keep working. The official statement is likely to become the focus of the president’s legal defense as the FBI and Biden Justice Department investigate whether he stole records covered under the Presidential Records Act or mishandled classified materials under the Espionage Act, allegations included in a search warrant released by a federal court in Florida on Friday. The president’s defense is rooted in the legal principal that the president and vice president are the ultimate declassifying authority of the U.S. government and through executive orders most recently issued in 2003 by George W. Bush and Barack Obama in 2009 that specifically exempt the president and vice president from having to follow the stringent declassification procedures every other federal agency and official must follow.
World Economic Forum Wants to Use AI To Automatically Censor Speech on the Internet | 11 Aug 2022 | The World Economic Forum (WEF) proposed a new way of censoring online content that requires a small group of experts to train artificial intelligence on identifying “misinformation” and abusive content. The WEF published an article Wednesday outlining a plan to overcome frequent instances of “child abuse [Yeah, right!], extremism, disinformation, hate speech and fraud” online, which the organization said cannot be handled by human “trust and safety teams,” according to ActiveFence Trusty & Safety Vice President Inbal Goldberger, who authored the article. Instead, the WEF proposed an AI-driven method of moderating online content, where subject matter experts provide training sets to the AI so it can learn to recognize and flag or restrict content that human moderators would deem dangerous. The system works through “human-curated, multi-language, off-platform intelligence,” input provided from expert sources, to create “learning sets” for the AI machine.
Macron approves NATO enlargement | 13 Aug 2022 | French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday signed the official documents approving the applications of Finland and Sweden to become NATO members. While Macron once called the US-led military bloc “brain dead,” he has switched tack since Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine. France’s parliament approved the enlargement proposal earlier this month, after the two Nordic nations applied to join the alliance in May. By petitioning the Western bloc for membership, both renounced their prior non-alignment, with Finland officially having been neutral since shortly after World War II and Sweden since the early 19th century.
US presented no evidence so far that Al-Qaeda leader was killed in Kabul – MFA | 11 Aug 2022 | Washington has not yet presented evidence to the public that Al-Qaeda (outlawed in Russia) leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in Kabul, Russian Foreign Ministry Deputy Spokesman Ivan Nechayev said at a briefing on Thursday. “We do not undertake to confirm the reliability of US statements about the elimination of the Al-Qaeda chief in Kabul in a drone strike. Washington has not presented any evidence to the public that the terrorist in question was eliminated,” the diplomat said. Nechayev noted that the first conclusions could be drawn after official comments from the current authorities in Afghanistan. “So far, they state that they have no information about Ayman al-Zawahiri being in the Afghan capital,” the diplomat added.
Denmark bans COVID vaccines for children | 10 Aug 2022 | The Danish government barred children under 18 years old from taking COVID-19 vaccines because of the low risk they face from the virus. “Therefore, it will no longer be possible for children and young people under the age of 18 to get the 1st jab, and from 1 September 2022 it will no longer be possible to get the 2nd jab,” said the Danish government in a June statement. The statement said high-risk children can be vaccinated after being assessed by a doctor. The Danish government said many people have been vaccinated and infected with COVID-19. Democratic-led House passes $737 billion climate and healthcare package without full CBO score of cost | 12 Aug 2022 | The Democratic-led House passed a climate and healthcare spending bill on Friday without a full Congressional Budget Office score of the legislation’s cost. The CBO confirmed to GOP lawmakers on Friday that 20 billion will be collected under the bill from those earning less than 400,000 per year through new audits, according to House GOP Whip Steve Scalise. Republicans argue that 20 billion breaks Joe Biden’s promise not to raise taxes on households making less than 400,000 annually. The CBO said on Thursday it needed more time to score the full cost of the legislation… House Democrats blocked a GOP amendment to the bill on Friday that would have prevented the IRS from using the 80 billion to hire up to 87,000 new agents over the next 10 years.

Racine, Wisconsin, Used Illegal Mobile Voting Sites in Recent Primary – Same District Where Corrupt GOP Speaker Robin Vos Won By 260 Votes | 13 Aug 2022 | The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Elections Commission against the City Clerk of Racine for its use of mobile sites in the latest primary. This is the same primary that Robin Voss squeaked out a win by only 260 votes. The city of Racine’s use of mobile sites violates state law directives regarding absentee ballots according to the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) which filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) against the City Clerk of Racine for employing mobile voting sites throughout the community. The complaint, filed on behalf of a Racine voter, urges WEC to direct Racine to comply with applicable state laws that prevent mobile voting sites and ensure that the sites selected do not confer a partisan advantage.
