JCU WOMEN’S SOCCER COMES IN AT NO. 9 IN RRAC PRESEASON POLL
WACO –– The Jarvis Christian University’s women’s soccer team checked in at No. 9 in the 2022 Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll. The Bulldogs finished 3-8 in the league last season. JCU opens the season on August 27 against Texas Wesleyan. Conference play for JCU starts on the road at Paul Quinn on September 22.
After winning the RRAC title in its first year as part of the league, Louisiana Christian is predicted to repeat as champs as evidenced by its results in the 2022 RRAC Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll. The Wildcats captured 11-of-12 first place votes following a season in which they went 12-0-1 against conference competition while capturing the regular season and tournament champions. Kendall Ayers will take over as head coach in LCU’s pursuit of another title.
Our Lady of the Lake claimed second in the poll with one first-place selection. The Saints were runners-up in last year’s regular season standings, and they fell short of the tournament title with a 1-0 loss to LCU in the final.
Southwest, Houston-Victoria, and Huston-Tillotson rounded out the top five. Texas A&M-Texarkana, LSU Shreveport and LSU Alexandria are next in the standings followed by Jarvis Christian, Texas A&M-San Antonio, Paul Quinn and Texas College.
