JCU Men’s Soccer Picked No. 8 in RRAC Preseason Coaches Poll

WACO — The Jarvis Christian University men’s soccer team came in at No. 8 in the 2022 Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-6-2 record in the RRAC during the 2021 season. JCU opens the 2022 season on August 27 against Texas Wesleyan.

In 2021, UHV went 12-1 against conference competition including wins in the semifinals and final of the RRAC men’s soccer championship. They repeat as the poll leader despite losing two all-conference first-teamers and three second-teamers.

LSU Shreveport, an RRAC tournament semifinalist last year, placed second and LSU Alexandria took third place after reaching the RRAC final in 2021.

Our Lady of the Lake, last year’s second-place finisher, placed fourth. Southwest was picked fifth followed by Huston-Tillotson and Louisiana Christian in a tie for sixth, and Jarvis Christian and Texas A&M-Texarkana in a tie for eighth.

Paul Quinn, Texas A&M-San Antonio and Texas College rounded out the list.

Voting was conducted by conference head coaches. Results of the poll are shown below with points calculated with a 12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 format.
