Registration underway for free college readiness classes for non-traditional students

Kilgore College Adult Education and Literacy is accepting applications for its Summer 2022 Intensive College Readiness (ICR) program.

Classes will begin June 6 and will be held Monday and Wednesday for eight weeks from 4 to 9 p.m. on the KC-Longview campus.

The ICR program is a free eight-week course designed to help students become college-ready through intense and rigorous instruction in reading/writing, math, college knowledge and computer skills.

Books and other instructional material will be provided at no additional cost. Deadline to enroll is June 1.

This program is open to students who are at least 18 years of age and have completed high school with a GED or another Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TxCHSE).

Re-entering adult learners who have graduated from high school three or more years, never attended college, but are now interested in attending college are also eligible for this program.

Individuals who have taken the college placement test, Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA), and need to make a higher score, or students who have been out of high school for a while and want to attend college this fall are also encouraged to attend.

Enrollment will be restricted to those who plan to enroll in college in the fall of 2022.
