Kilgore College hosting several camps for children, youth this summer

Kilgore College will host several summer camps for children and youth beginning later this month. Camps include athletic performance, basketball, football, softball, music, acting, twirling and dance.

Camps offered this summer:

 

Athletic Performance Camps:

  • About: These camps for boys and girls (7th through 12th grades) who participate in any type of sports. The camps will focus on improving student-athletes’ speed, strength, power, flexibility and teach how to help prevent injuries.
  • When: May-July (click link below for more info)
  • Where: The Ballpark at KC Commons
  • Ages: Students entering 7th through 12th grades
  • Cost: $500 per student

Softball Skills Camp:

  • When: June 1-3 (Wed-Fri)
  • Where: The Ballpark at KC Commons
  • Ages: Age 6 to students entering 12th grade
  • Cost: $60 per student

Tops in Twirling Camp:

  • When: June 1-4
  • Where: Masters Gymnasium (Kilgore campus)
  • Ages: Students entering 6th-12th grades.
  • Deadline: Deadline to register is May 18.

Football Skills Camp:

  • When: June 6-10 (Mon-Fri)
  • Where: R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium
  • Ages: 7-15
  • Check-in & Registration: 7 to 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, at the football stadium
  • Cost: $125. A $50 application fee is required at time of application and is non-refundable after May 31. Balance is due by registration (Monday, June 6). Cost will include instruction, a souvenir KC football and a camp certificate.

Rangerette Summer Camps:

The new format for this summer includes two sessions only for students in high school (9th-12th grades) and/or college-age students. Both sessions will offer the option for “resident” student or “commuter” student.

 

NOTE: There are no camps offered this summer for elementary or middle school-age dancers.

  • Session 1: June 8-11 (resident and commuter dancers will check in from 3-5 p.m. in Masters Gym on June 8)
  • Session 2: June 12-15 (resident and commuter dancers will check in from 3-5 p.m. in Masters Gym on June 12)
  • Resident Cost: $375
  • Commuter Cost: $325

Brian Hoberecht Boys’ Basketball Camp:

  • When: July 11-14 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Where: Masters Gymnasium (Kilgore campus)
  • Ages: 5-17
  • Check-in & Registration: 8:30 a.m. Monday, July 11
  • Cost: $100

Stephanie Williams Girls’ Basketball Camp:

  • When: July 18-21 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Where: Masters Gymnasium (Kilgore campus)
  • Ages: Students entering 1st thru 12th grades
  • Cost: $40

Texas Shakespeare Festival High School Acting Workshop:

This workshop is designed for students who are serious about taking their work to the next level and seeing what life as a professional actor is really like as they train amongst the TSF company. The workshop culminates in a showcase performance, free to family and friends.

Music Machine Sacred Music Camp:

  • About: A one-week inter-denominational sacred music summer camp for children
  • When: Aug. 1-6 (Mon-Sat)
  • Ages: Students who have completed K-6th grade
  • Where: Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center (Kilgore campus)
  • Cost: Early Registration is April 25 to June 17: $175/camper; Late Registration is June 18 to July 8: $190/camper.  A $10 discount for first additional sibling from the same family and $5 for each additional sibling (i.e. $175 for the first child; $165 for the second child; $160 for the third child, etc.)
