Police horses trample demonstrators at Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa By Joe Warmington | 18 Feb 2022 | Turns out the lasting image of the Freedom Convoy protest at Parliament Hill will not be bouncy castles but that of a woman with a walker being trampled by a police horse. The violence the Prime Minister has expressed concern about during the three-week protest in Ottawa didn’t unfold until Justin Trudeau’s Emergencies Act police army was sent in to disperse the crowd. The three major incidents Friday, under a form of martial law, were grotesque. Video of Toronto Police Mounted Unit officers charging into the crowd and at least one horse trampling multiple people — including an elderly woman with a walker — was disturbing. But that was not the only troubling incident. Another saw a protester behind a police line repeatedly being smashed with an officer’s rifle. And convoy organizer Benjamin Dichter also told the Toronto Sun “one of drivers had his truck windows smashed by Ottawa Police (with) guns drawn and (he was) dragged out of his vehicle by force.

Freedom Convoy leader Tamara Lich arrested by Canadian police | 17 Feb 2022 | Canadian “Freedom Convoy” leader Tamara Lich has been arrested by police in Ottawa, according to online reports. CBC News reporter David Cochrane wrote in a tweet: “Convoy organizer Tamara Lich was arrested Thursday evening by Ottawa police and also remains in police custody. Both she and Chris Barber – who was arrested earlier – are expected to be charged criminally, according to sources.” A clip showing Lich being detained by Ottawa police was also shared on social media by an account which is seemingly associated with the convoy.

Canadian clergy rebuke Trudeau for invoking Emergencies Act, other ‘tyrannical actions’ | 18 Feb 2022 | A group of Canadian clergy sent an open letter to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau earlier this week rebuking him for invoking the Emergencies Act to quell the Freedom Convoy and for other actions they described as “tyrannical.” “We are writing to you as representative pastors of Christian congregations from across the nation and as law-abiding citizens who respect the God-defined role of civil government and uphold the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the highest law of our land, which recognizes the supremacy of God over all human legislation,” read the letter, which was signed by 29 clergymen and remains open for other Canadians to sign.
American truckers plan convoy to DC in protest of COVID-19 mandates –The move comes as Canadian truckers continue to protest COVID mandates in their country | 17 Feb 2022 | Taking a cue from truckers bordering America’s north, a political action committee will partner with truck convoys to protest what it deems as overreaching government COVID-19 restrictions and mandates. The Great American Patriot Project on Wednesday asked volunteers to contribute, join or support a convoy of truckers slated to travel to Washington D.C. next month. Routes for the convoys will start in Cleveland, Columbus, Ohio and Fresno, California and will end on March 6 in Washington. They will be met by a congressional welcome committee to discuss policy changes, organizers said.

New Zealand Threatens to Use Military Against Civilian Anti-Mandate Protesters –“[The] four army vehicles travelled to Wellington from Linton and Waiouru on Wednesday,” according to Stuff. | 17 Feb 2022 | The New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF) warned Wednesday it was poised to deploy “Defence Force assets” to Wellington to disband an anti-coronavirus vaccine mandate protest near New Zealand’s parliament building after the rally pushed into its ninth consecutive day. “An NZDF spokeswoman said discussions on the possible deployment of Defence Force assets remain ongoing, and no decisions have been made,” New Zealand’s Stuff news site reported on February 16… The New Zealand Police issued an ultimatum to anti-vaccine mandate protesters gathered outside New Zealand’s parliament building on February 15 warning them to move their motor vehicles — many of which are blocking roads around the legislative center as part of the demonstration — or face the towing and seizure of their automobiles. The rally’s participants largely ignored this demand by the police force — which is controlled by New Zealand’s federal government — and continued to gather by the hundreds near the parliament building’s grounds on February 16.

United States Truckers’ Support Group Makes Trip to Canadian Border With Supplies –“Boots-on-the-Ground Support for Canada’s Freedom Fighters” By Cat McGuire | 14 Feb 2022 | This past weekend, Convoy to Save America (CTSA), a new group formed to peacefully support the Canadian truckers and the Canadian people, sent two convoys to the U.S.-Canadian border at the Peace Bridge in Buffalo, NY. CTSA brought supplies for the Canadian truckers and peacefully assembled with other groups from around New York to support the convoys, protest the lockdowns, and celebrate freedom. On both Saturday and Sunday, a 13-mile “slow roll” convoy that started in Tonawanda, NY, drove into Buffalo past government buildings, and ended at Pat Sole Park in Buffalo across from the Peace Bridge. At the park were spirited rallies with speakers, music, and cries of “We will not comply!”

Woke Capitalism is a Monopoly Game By CLG Founder, Michael Rectenwald, Ph.D. | 13 Feb 2022 | (Opinion) In 2018, Ross Douthat of the New York Times introduced the phrase “woke capital.” Essentially, Douthat suggested that woke capitalism works by substituting symbolic value for economic value. Under woke capitalism, corporations offer workers rhetorical placebos in lieu of costlier economic concessions, such as higher wages and better benefits. The same gestures of wokeness also appease the liberal political elite, promoting their agendas of identity politics, gender pluralism, transgender rights, lax immigration standards, climate change mitigation, and so on. In return, woke corporations hope to be spared higher taxes, increased regulations, and antitrust legislation aimed at monopolies. Although woke capitalism alienates cultural conservatives, the Republican Party remains pro-corporate, making woke capitalism a win-win strategy for corporations.

Sen. Ron Johnson Introduces Bill That Would Block Federal Agencies From Interfering With Doctors’ Right to Treat Patients | 18 Feb 2022 | Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson introduced legislation Wednesday that would block federal agencies from interfering with doctors’ rights to treat patients. The Daily Caller first obtained the legislation which was cosponsored by Republican Indiana Sen. Mike Braun and Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee. The bill is titled the “The Right to Treat Act” and would make it so no federal agency would have the authority to regulate the practice of medicine and that no federal law, rule, regulation, or policy would restrict the distribution of FDA approved drugs or a Right to Try dr-g. Many other countries have experimented with other dr-gs to help prevent or treat COVID-19.

Senate narrowly defeats two vaccine defund amendments – four Republicans absent from vote | 18 Feb 2022 | Late Thursday, the United States Senate defeated two amendments that would have stripped out funding for the Biden regime to enforce its various vaccine mandates. Americans for Limited Government led a national campaign to urge support for Sen. Mike Lee’s (R-Utah) amendment to a temporary government funding bill. Lee’s amendment would have defunded all enforcement of the Biden vaccine mandates affecting American workers, including federal contractors, military personnel, and healthcare workers. The online campaign, DefundtheMandates dot com, resulted in 24.6 million emails being sent to Congress urging them to defund the vaccine mandates… On a straight party line vote, 46 Republicans voted in favor of the amendment and 47 Democrats opposed to it. Four Republicans [RINOs], Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah), James Inhofe (Okla.), Richard Burr (N.C.), and Lindsey Graham (S.C.) were absent from the vote.

CDC Admits PCR Tests Were Used to Harvest People’s DNA Without Consent | 18 Feb 2022 | If you’ve gotten a Covid test, there’s a change your DNA has been harvested without your consent. Following a worrisome tweet from the CDC on Wednesday, another widely criticized so-called “conspiracy theory” has become reality: Covid-19 PCR tests have been forwarded to laboratories for mapping “genomic sequencing” without consent. The procedure of genomic sequencing is used to examine the genetic makeup of viruses. In summary, if you consented to a PCR nose swab, your genetic material may have been transmitted to a facility outside of the United States and utilized for reasons you were unaware of. The CDC noted in the film “its [PCR tests] being used by scientists all over the world to track the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants.”

Early on Saturday, the Ukrainian forces shelled the city of Dokuchaevsk in the self-proclaimed LPR, firing 40 grenades in total, the Joint Center for Control and Coordination said. Amid the attacks, the authorities the DPR the LPR started the evacuation of civilians to Russia on Friday, fearing military aggression by the Ukrainian government. The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday it is extremely concerned by the aggravation of the situation in Donbas and that civilians there are suffering and risks and believes the shelling should stop.

Donetsk People’s Republic Starts Evacuation of Civilians as Shelling By Ukrainian Forces Intensifies | 18 Feb 2022 | Denis Pushilin, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said on Friday that a mass evacuation of the population to Russia has been organised over the threat of Ukrainian invasion. “When the enemy shelling the settlements of the republic, the life and health of our citizens may be endangered. Therefore, from today, February 18, a mass centralised evacuation of the population to the Russian Federation has been organised. First of all, women, children and the elderly will be evacuated,” Pushilin said in a video address. The DPR head added that facilities that will host the population are ready in Russia’s Rostov region “as agreed with Russian authorities.” “The evacuees will be provided with everything they need. All conditions have been created at the checkpoints for a quick transition,” Pushilin said.

Bart Gorman, who has been serving as deputy ambassador, was asked to leave the country, they claimed. The embassy told the news agencies that Washington is considering a similar response. Gorman is a career US diplomat specialising in security, according to his bio. He previously served as the deputy assistant secretary and assistant director for Threat Investigations and Analysis (TIA) in the department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security.

Moscow responds to US ‘intelligence’ on Russian invasion –The Foreign Ministry has previously claimed February 15 will be remembered as the day Western ‘propaganda’ failed | 17 Feb 2022 | Attempts to work out when Russia might begin an invasion of Ukraine, despite the Kremlin’s insistence that war isn’t on the cards, only discredit Western intelligence agencies, Moscow has blasted as tensions continue to rise on the shared border between the two Eastern European nations. In a series of comments issued on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova poured scorn on Washington’s persistent announcements that an offensive is on the horizon. According to her, Kiev, which has previously expressed doubt over claims an incursion is looming, has asked the West to lay off the doomsday warnings as such claims have dealt a blow to the country’s economy and created panic at home.

Russian Duma asks Putin to recognize Ukrainian regions as independent –Russian lawmakers have voted to ask President Vladimir Putin to recognize the self-declared Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in Ukraine as independent nations. | 15 Feb 2022 | Russia’s parliament, the Duma, voted on Tuesday to ask Putin to recognize two Russian-backed breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine as independent. The speaker of the Russian parliament’s lower house, Vyacheslav Volodin, said that lawmakers would directly call on Putin to recognize the regions as “sovereign and independent states.” The Duma said in a statement that it considered the recognition of the regions to be “morally justified.” It accused Ukraine of breaking the terms of the Minsk agreement, subjecting residents to shelling from weapons and imposing an economic blockade on the population. “The state Duma expresses its unequivocal and consolidated support for the adequate measures taken for humanitarian purposes to support residents of certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine who have expressed a desire to speak and write in Russian, who want to respect freedom of religion, and who do not agree with the actions of the Ukrainian authorities that violate their rights and freedoms,” the appeal stated.

Pennsylvania Mail-in Voting Law Suffers Another Defeat in Court | 18 Feb 2022 | A Pennsylvania state court on Wednesday delivered another blow to the state’s universal mail-in ballot law by issuing an order that a previous ruling rendering the law null can take effect starting in March. Commonwealth Court Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt previously wrote in late January that the law violated the state Constitution. On Wednesday, Leavitt said Republicans who challenged the law are likely to prevail when the state Supreme Court hears the case next month. The judge also wrote that an appeal by Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration assumes the higher court will overrule decisions that were rendered in 1862 and 1924, which would invalidate laws passed to expand absentee voting. Administration lawyers did not identify an error in those decisions, Leavitt added.

Ex-cop Kim Potter sentenced to two years in prison for Daunte Wright killing | 18 Feb 2022 | Ex-cop Kim Potter was sentenced to two years in prison Friday for killing 20-year-old Daunte Wright, shooting him when she thought she was firing her Taser. The 26-year Brooklyn Center police veteran was convicted of manslaughter in December for the fatal shooting, which took place after Wright tried to flee a traffic stop. Video from the scene showed Potter shout that she was going for her taser, though she’d mistakenly pulled her pistol. She fired a single shot before realizing her mistake. “This is one of the saddest cases I’ve had on my 20 years on the bench,” Judge Regina Chu said Friday. “This is a cop who made a tragic mistake.

Professor’s race-based class participation policy inspired by Chairman Mao –For class discussions, the professor utilizes ‘progressive stacking’ to condition students’ participation and speaking based on their race and gender. | 17 Feb 2022 | The “Class Discussion Guidelines” section of Ana Maria Candela’s “Social Change -Introduction to Sociology” syllabus, which instructs white male students to wait their turn to speak after “non-white folks” talk, opens with a quotation about speaking from Mao Zedong, the communist Chinese dictator who killed 45 million people. “No investigation, no right to speak,” the quote reads in the document for the Binghamton University class. In 2016, The Washington Post reported that the dictator’s death toll made him the “biggest mass murderer in the history of the world.” [Yes, but 2016 was pre-Fauci. That assessment might need to be revisited.] The quotation “helps to convey the idea that speaking, during class discussions, should be based on having done your investigative work,” Candela writes.
