Four College Champions to be Crowned Today at CECC Texas – the Largest Scholastic Esports Festival Globally
The Texas High and Middle School Esports Championships continue for a 2nd year to compete within CECC Texas

- A record-breaking 84 teams (up from 64 in 2023), including 19 conference champions, have battled across four gaming titles – representing 800+ competitors
- “May Madness” event includes open tournaments, the ESPORTSU Collegiate Awards across multiple categories, gaming-themed onsite activations, and various industry panels
- NFL Legend and Nebraska Esports Coach Ahman Green in attendance to inspire the competitors

Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) and ESPORTSU concludes today the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup Texas (CECC Texas) presented by McDonald’s. The “May Madness” event features 84 teams (up from 64 in 2023) who are competing for prize pools and coveted trophies across Overwatch 2®, Rocket League, VALORANT, and Super Smash Bros.™ Ultimate through Generation Esports. More than 800+ competitors and thousands of fans have enjoyed this weekend.

CECC Texas offers something for everyone including the Texas High and Middle School Esports Championships, theNational Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship finals across League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, and VALORANT, open tournaments for Street Fighter 6, Teamfight Tactics and HALO Infinite 2v2, the Smoothie King Super Smash Bros.™ Ultimate Open, through Generation Esports, with a $5,000 prize pool, the ESPORTSU Collegiate Awards across multiple categories, gaming-themed onsite activations, and various industry panels.
Arlington Mayor Jim Ross joined CSMG CEO Michael Schreck on Friday to announce CECC Texas will return to Esports Stadium Arlington in 2025, marking the third straight year for May Madness.
CECC Texas is supported by McDonald’s of North Texas, State Farm, U.S. Army 5th Brigade, Smoothie King, CTRL, Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau, Apple Music. Zipchair Gaming, Dairy MAX, Dallas Cowboys Game Time presented by Lenovo, Cisco, Red Bull, PC Gamerz, Cirkul, Grand Canyon University, and U.S. Army ROTC, who will be activating throughout the event.
