ATLANTA – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is inviting the public to review and provide feedback on an interactive web map as part of the ongoing development of the Atlanta District Bicycle Plan. Input will help shape the plan’s final recommendations and guide future bicycle improvements in the state system.
This online engagement invites community members to review and provide feedback on recommended Bikeway Functions for state roadways, proposed Bicycle Tourism Trail (BTT) refinements, and corridor priorities throughout the Atlanta District. Most participants will finish in about 10-15 minutes, depending on how much feedback they choose to share.
TxDOT’s Atlanta District includes Bowie, Camp, Cass, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Titus and Upshur counties.
To participate, visit txdot.gov and search “Atlanta District Bicycle Plan,” or go directly to www.txdot.gov/projects/ hearings-meetings/atlanta/ 2026/atlanta-district-bicycle- plan.html. The survey is open through Friday, Nov. 6, 2026.
As a regional framework, the Atlanta Bicycle Plan will help TxDOT identify gaps and prioritize locations where bikeway improvements could provide the greatest benefit. The draft plan will be available for review and comment next year.
The interactive web map will be provided in English. If you need additional interpretation or translation services, or are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to participate, please contact TxDOT at 214-535-7261 or elizabeth.jones@txdot.gov at least five business days prior to the comment deadline of Nov. 6, 2026. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
