Bullard, Texas (August 20, 2026) — UT Health East Texas celebrated the grand re-opening of UT Health East Texas Physicians – Family Medicine in Bullard with an open house on Monday, Aug. 17.

Located at 435 N. Doctor M. Roper Pkwy., the clinic completed a major expansion adding nearly 2,000 square feet of space and almost doubling the number of exam rooms — from eight to 14 — including a larger room designed for in-office procedures.

“This expansion is a direct response to the tremendous growth we’re seeing in southern Smith County and the Bullard community,” said Steven Cox, MD, UT Tyler School of Medicine Faculty Practice Plan President. “As our region continues to grow, we’re committed to investing in facilities that make it easier for families to access the care they need, when and where they need it.”

The additional space will allow for three new healthcare providers to join the Bullard clinic team and create opportunities for specialty visits by rotating physicians. Family medicine physician Florence Cornell, DO, who is expected to begin seeing patients at the clinic in early September, was at the event to meet the community, as were established providers Andrew Bowers, MD, and Melody O’Dell, APRN, FNP-C.

“Our goal is to make high-quality, convenient care available close to home for every family in Bullard and surrounding communities,” said Jason Boyd, chief operating officer of UT Health East Texas Physicians.
