| AUSTIN—Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., is pleased to announce that Texans and history enthusiasts who donate $30 or more to the Texas General Land Office’s (GLO) Save Texas History Program will receive this year’s exclusive t-shirt celebrating Texas’s rich heritage. Every donation helps the GLO preserve over 35 million documents and more than 45,000 maps that helped shape our state’s history. Anyone who donates $150 or more will receive the t-shirt plus a signed copy of the Commissioner’s Alamo Defenders Heritage Map of Texas. “As a 9th-generation Texan, it is an honor to care for the 35.5 million historic documents and over 45,000 maps housed in the General Land Office’s historic Archives,” said Commissioner Buckingham. “Many of these precious documents and maps are fragile. If we do not properly preserve them, irreplaceable parts of Texas’s story could fade from memory or be lost forever. By donating $30 or more to the GLO’s Save Texas History Program, you will not only receive a limited edition t-shirt but also help us keep Texas history alive in the hearts of future generations.”
