UT Tyler 2026 Archer Fellows Announced
Cohort joins other selected UT System students to intern, study at nation’s capital

TYLER, Texas (May 11, 2026) – Four students at The University of Texas at Tyler will join other selected UT System students as Archer Fellows for the 2026 summer and fall semesters. Archer Fellows participate in designated internships and attend classes focusing on policy, history and advocacy at the nation’s capital.
Each cohort is comprised of the best and brightest students from across UT System. Selection is based on a competitive application process.
“We are excited about our 2026 cohort and look forward to the great work these students will do while representing UT Tyler at the nation’s capital,” said Dr. Paul Streufert, UT Tyler Honors College founding dean and program coordinator for the university.

CHANDLER – Ashley Worley, mass communication, fall 2026.
GARLAND – Jasmine Farrish, doctorate in nursing, summer 2026.
TYLER – Emily Betancourt, political science, fall 2026.
VAN – Mackenzie Clayton, master’s in art history, summer 2026.
The Archer Fellowship Program, established in 2001 by UT System in conjunction with former U.S. Rep. Bill Archer, brings highly motivated and accomplished students to Washington, D.C. Archer Fellows intern with an organization of their choosing based on their own professional and academic goals and interests.
