| HOUSTON, 4/23/2026 Bedrock City Comic Co., a chain of six comic book and pop culture stores serving the greater Houston area, is proud to announce its participation in Free Comic Book Day 2026, taking place on Saturday, May 2nd. All six locations, Galleria, Spring, Clear Lake, Heights, Sugar Land, and Katy, will open their doors to thousands of attendees for this highly anticipated annual celebration. “We are so excited for our biggest Free Comic Book Day ever on May 2nd! We know it’s an event the Houston community looks forward to each year, and we’re working with our comic creators and local artists to make this year’s event one of the best yet!” said Bedrock City Marketing Manager Dylan Dusebout. “Free Comic Book Day is a great opportunity for newcomers to dive into the world of comics and for longtime readers to try a new series they may not have picked up otherwise. We encourage fans everywhere to visit their local Bedrock City location on Saturday, May 2 to celebrate!” The Galleria location will serve as the centerpiece for special guest appearances, hosting signings from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM with acclaimed comic creators including Kazu Kibuishi, Brandon T. Snider, Sarah Leuver, Aaron Campbell, and Ande Parks. All Bedrock City locations will also feature local Houston artists, along with professional cosplayers from Houston Hero Headquarters to enhance the fan experience. Beginning at 10:00 AM when doors open, visitors can choose from thousands of free comic books, featuring popular titles from major publishers such as Marvel, DC, Image, Viz, and more. In addition, the Galleria and Katy locations will host a community blood drive in partnership with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. The first 30 donors at each location will receive a special thank-you package that includes free comics and a beach towel.
