UT Health East Texas Physicians Welcomes Edilisa Ong, MD, to Tyler

Tyler, Texas (October 22, 2025) — UT Health East Texas Physicians is expanding pediatric services in Tyler with the addition of Edilisa Ong, MD.

 

“I provide comprehensive medical care that focuses on a child’s physical, emotional and mental well-being. Every patient is unique, and I strive to guide families with compassion, understanding and the most up-to-date medical information,” Dr. Ong said. “Children represent the next generation that will shape the world, and it is my responsibility to keep them healthy so they can reach their fullest potential.”

 

Dr. Ong said her passion for healthcare comes from wanting to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives. She said working with children has taught her the importance of humility, empathy, appreciation and respect.

 

“Every day in pediatrics gives me the opportunity to improve a child’s health, support their growth and development and educate families to help their children thrive,” Dr. Ong said. “Being a mother myself, I understand the challenges parents face and I am dedicated to addressing their concerns with empathy and insight.”

 

In addition to English, Dr. Ong is fluent in Tagalog and speaks basic Mandarin and Fookien.
