Upshur County Sheriff’s Office: Union Hill student taken into custody after making threatening statements

On April 23,2026, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office responded to Union Hill ISD campus for an incident involving threatening statements made by a student.

Due to the serious nature of the threats and the impact on the school community, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office was immediately notified.

The student made comments which caused fear among students and staff.

The student was taken into custody on site without incident and charged with Terroristic Threat(felony 3). The student remains in the Upshur County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Student and staff safety remains the top priority, and all threats are taken seriously.
