Darrell Day Wins Two East Texas Straw Polls
Texas’ 32nd Congressional District candidate Darrell Day, a MAGA candidate and the GOP Nominee for this seat in 2024, won two recent straw polls among Republican leaders in East Texas– the first straw polls taken in this race.
In the recent straw poll conducted by the Wood County (County Executive Committee), Day received 15 votes to 1 vote for Jace Yarbrough and 1 vote for Ryan Binkley, while none of the other six candidates registered votes. Day said, “This substantial margin underscores our strong grassroots enthusiasm for our conservative record, common-sense leadership, and commitment to faith, freedom, and fiscal responsibility. We’ve shown ourselves to be the candidate most tuned in to East Texas issues.”
In a recent straw poll by Accountability Matters, Day again dominated with 14 votes, compared to 6 votes for Jace Yarbrough, 2 votes for James Ussery, 1 vote for Ryan Binkley, and 1 undecided.
“These strong showings in East Texas are a showing of the momentum behind our campaign,” said Day. “Texans in CD-32 are ready for a fighter who has already proven he can win the Republican nomination and who stands firmly on the Constitution, biblical values, and putting America first. I am deeply grateful for this support and humbled by the trust these groups have placed in me. Together, we will deliver real conservative leadership to Washington.”
Wood, Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Rains, Hunt, Camp, and Upshur counties are now in Congressional District 32 after redistricting last year by the Texas Legislature. As early voting begins Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the Republican primary, Day’s campaign highlights his experience as a former Arlington City Councilman, GOP precinct chair, successful business owner, and the district’s 2024 Republican nominee.
