Carter BloodCare thanks volunteers with new November blanket
As thanks for giving in November, Carter BloodCare is offering a brand-new blanket to each volunteer blood donor.
Carter BloodCare’s annual blanket incentive has become a popular holiday tradition. The exclusive 2025 blanket is available while supplies last.
Eligible donors can give blood starting at age 16 with parental consent; those 17 and older can donate on their own. Donors also must weigh at least 110 pounds and feel well at the time of donation.
All blood types are needed, especially O negative, the universal blood type. O negative can support any patient, regardless of their individual blood type. Also, O negative blood is the only type used to treat premature and unborn babies.
Since 1951, Texas-based Carter BloodCare has provided lifesaving blood and blood components, now serving more than 200 hospitals across 57 Lone Star counties.
Carter BloodCare donors help people with life-threatening injuries from serious traffic accidents; children and adults fighting cancer; severe burn patients; older adults with age-related health issues; hip replacement surgery patients; organ transplant recipients; people battling heart, lung, liver or kidney disease; open heart surgery patients; new mothers having difficult childbirths; and others in need this season and year-round.
