Jasmine Douglas, MD
Jacksonville, Texas (September 23, 2025) — UT Health East Texas Physicians is expanding addiction medicine and obesity medicine services in Jacksonville with the addition of Jasmine Douglas, MD.
“As a family medicine physician specializing in addiction medicine, I strive to meet patients where they are, creating a nonjudgmental space that empowers sustainable medical and personal change, particularly for individuals navigating substance use or chronic health challenges,” Dr. Douglas said. “My work emphasizes addiction and obesity medicine with a particular interest in nutrition as a tool for recovery and holistic lifestyle interventions. I offer individualized integrative care plans that reduce stigma, support families and promote sustainable recovery.”
Dr. Douglas said she was drawn to healthcare to advocate for individuals and families who face barriers within traditional systems, addressing both medical and social needs in underserved communities.
“I chose to specialize in addiction medicine after seeing how deeply behavioral health challenges affect entire families. My goal is to bring hope, resources and equity to populations that often lack access to comprehensive care, focusing on community-rooted strategies for recovery and maternal health,” she said. “As a family physician, I am committed to collaborating across specialties to ensure whole-person care that fosters lasting resilience.”
Dr. Douglas is welcoming patients at 203 Nacogdoches St., Ste. 280, in Jacksonville. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 903-541-5396.
