Carter BloodCare has Dallas Cowboys T-shirts for October donors

As thanks for giving blood with Carter BloodCare in October, each donor will receive a Dallas Cowboys T-shirt, while supplies last. The “Let’s Get Rowdy About Donating Blood” shirt is an exclusive item for Carter BloodCare donors.

Currently, all blood types are needed, especially O negative. As the universal blood type, O negative is used to support any patient, regardless of their individual blood type. Also, O negative blood is the only type used to treat premature and unborn babies.

Eligible donors can start giving blood at age 16 with parental consent; those 17 and older can donate independently. Donors also must weigh at least 110 pounds and feel well at the time of donation.

For nearly 75 years, Texas-based Carter BloodCare has provided lifesaving blood and blood components to area patients, now serving more than 200 hospitals across 57 Lone Star counties.
