Events begin Friday evening with the delivery and closed judging of Creative Arts entries. These include handmade ornaments, woodworking, crafts, Lego builds, photography themed “Texas Waters,” and more.

Friday also features the Special Category Contest. The challenge is revealed on the spot. Past contests included storytelling, Play-Doh sculpture, and drawing. Winners receive recognition and a cash award.

Saturday’s competitions begin with the Talent and Royalty Contest. The Talent portion allows solo or group performances. The Royalty Contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and awards scholarships to the Mister and Miss, judged on speeches, interviews, and presence.

The public and press are invited to support the youth as they compete for awards promoting leadership and good citizenship. The awards range from 1st to 6th place.
