Location: US-69 near Penny Rd.

 

Vehicle 1: 2006 Hyundai Elantra.

Driver 1:

Hyrum Grandy, 40 years of age, from Lone Oak, TX.

 

Passenger 1: Deceased.

Amara Grandy, 13 years of age, from Lone Oak, TX

 

Passenger 2: Deceased.

Alexander Grandy, 14 years of age, from Lone Oak, TX.

 

Passenger 3: Deceased.

Alvin Grandy is 10 years of age from Lone Oak, TX.

 

Vehicle 2: 2014 Ford F150.

Driver 2:

Angel Martinez, 34 years of age, from Celest, TX.

 

Vehicle 3: 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

Driver 3:

Lane Recer, 29 years of age, from Trenton, TX.

 

Description: A preliminary investigation indicated that vehicle 1 was traveling southbound. Vehicle 2 was traveling southbound, two vehicles in front of vehicle 1. Vehicle 3 was traveling northbound. Vehicles began to slow down, and the driver of vehicle 1 veered into the shoulder to avoid collision with the vehicle in front of it. The driver of vehicle 1 drove back into the southbound lane, struck vehicle 2, and entered the northbound lane. Vehicle 3 struck vehicle 1’s left side. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
