See The Impressionist Revolution from Monet to Matisse at Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) through November 3. The exhibition explores the fascinating story of Impressionism from its birth in 1874 to its legacy in the early 20th century. Told almost entirely through the DMA’s exceptional holdings, this show reveals the rebellious origins of the independent artist collective known as the Impressionists and the revolutionary course they charted for modern art. There’s a Nac for That

In the beginning, there was Nacogdoches. It is the oldest city in Texas and its rich history is displayed at every turn. A statue trail commemorates the early settlers and founders of not only the town, but the entire state of Texas. The Historic Town Center serves as a visitor bureau in downtown Nacogdoches. The history and legends of the city are told there and visitors have access to everything they need to start their “Nac” adventure. READ MORE

Try Popsicle Champagne for a Fun Summer Treat

By Katie-Rose Watson

Popsicle champagne is such an elegant, glamorous twist on a summertime classic. I love making popsicles. It’s not difficult at all but the point of this post is to show you a 20-second summertime dessert so I bought two kinds of fruit-juice popsicles (do not use cream popsicles for this): grape and strawberry. Serve the popsicles unwrapped in wine glasses and pour champagne on top. As the popsicles melt they flavor and color the champagne.

All you need to serve four:

4 Assorted fruit-juice popsicles (I used Solero grape and strawberry popsicles)

1 Bottle of champagne

Unwrap popsicles and set stick-side up in wine glasses. Top with champagne and serve. Watch everyone ooh and ahh.
