July 5, 2024

Units on Standby Status and Ready to Deploy

Kingsville, TX — July 5, 2024 — As it becomes more evident that Hurricane Beryl could make landfall in South Texas, volunteers with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Disaster Relief (SBTC Disaster Relief) are ready to help.

Recovery teams, including chainsaw crews and feeding units, will be deployed as needs emerge, according to SBTC DR Director Scottie Stice.

“Our teams are always ready to respond to the needs in Texas,” Stice said. “In fact, we have recovery units on stand-by all across the state.”

The storm could hit near the Texas/Mexico coast late Sunday or early Monday.

The Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC) is a fellowship of more than 2,700 Southern Baptist churches in Texas committed to touching the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. SBTC Disaster Relief consists of more than 6,000 trained volunteers who deploy to help their neighbors all around the world recover from natural disasters.
