PORTION OF US 271 SCHEDULED FOR SURFACE REHABILITATION

ATLANTA – A portion of US 271 is scheduled for surface rehabilitation soon, according to plans awarded in April by the Texas Department of Transportation.
“This project will cover an area of about four miles from FM 726 to the Gregg County line. All four lanes will receive a new base along with new asphalt concrete pavement,” said Mount Pleasant Area Engineer Wendy Starkes.
Madden Contracting Company LLC of Minden, LA was awarded the contract with a bid of $5,280,510.
Work is expected to begin in July and take about four months to complete, weather permitting.
