JIM “PAPPY” MOORE: The Presidency Under Siege
By Jim “Pappy” Moore
The most serious misconduct of the Biden administration has been orchestrating the heinous attack on his chief political opponents in the form of criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits, all of which have arisen in Democrat strongholds, with Democrat prosecutors acting as partisans.
House Democrats impeached President Trump twice, and both times failed to gain a victory in the U.S. Senate, which acted as judge and jury in the trumped-up cases. Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat henchmen used impeachment to try to stop Donald Trump from being eligible for running for president in the future following the January 6, 2021 event at the protest which occurred in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Capitol.
President Trump gave a speech before the event in which he told his followers to conduct themselves “peacefully and patriotically.” Prior to the event, President Trump had offered to call out the National Guard to protect the Capitol on that day, but Nancy Pelosi – who was in charge of the Capitol Police – and the Democrat Mayor of Washington, D.C. both declined Trump’s offer of 10,000 National Guardsmen.
Nancy Pelosi has recently acknowledged in a documentary by her daughter that she was responsible for the handling of the protest on January 6, 2021 at the Capitol.
If impeachment had been successful during the January 6, 2021 and January 20, 2021 time period, Trump would have been removed from office and could have been banned from holding the presidency in the future. It failed. So even while Trump was still president, Democrats tried desperately to bar him from running for president again in 2024.
After Biden took office, Democrats plotted to tie the former president up in civil and criminal prosecutions in venues such as New York City and Atlanta, Georgia. Using state and federal prosecutors, they targeted the former president and his key aides for civil and criminal cases. Americans saw these unfold, and they have judged Joe Biden and his administration guilty of going after former president Trump for political reasons.
How can a US president do his job, a job of being on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day and night of every month, every year if he is subject to this kind of politically motivated attack during or after he is in office?
Democrats love to talk about “threats to democracy” and “protecting democracy,” but it is their abuse of the judicial process to target their political opponents which is the true threat to democracy in our country.
The US Supreme Court issued a decision on Monday, July 1, 2024 which addressed some of the ramifications of this onslaught of politically based attacks on the former President. Their concern is that this Democrat led barrage of what is being called “lawfare” will cripple future president and destroy the very basis of our Constitutional form of federal government which has three equal branches of government: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Without acting would be tantamount to allowing the Legislative – with disreputable leaders like Nancy Pelosi – to effectively go after and destroy their political opponents.
Today, July 1, 2024, the US Supreme Court ruled that a president has immunity from prosecution for a variety of acts, and that the wholesale prosecution of former presidents is a dangerous precedent which threatens the presidency. We shall see if this decision is sufficient to protect the presidency from the attacks by political partisans set on using judicial cases to hobble or control their political opposition.
