Tyler, Texas (July 30, 2025) — UT Health East Texas Physicians is expanding orthopedic and sports medicine surgical services in Tyler with the addition of Jayesh Patel, MD.
Jayesh Patel, MD, MBA, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon at the UT Health East Texas Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute in Tyler where he is accepting patients of all ages.
“As an orthopedic sports medicine specialist, my goal is to help patients return to the activities they love, from Division I sports to a round of golf,” Dr. Patel said. “With more than 15 years of experience in East Texas, I am committed to providing my patients with the highest level of care, using innovative techniques and implants to achieve the best possible outcomes.”
Dr. Patel specializes in orthopedic sports medicine with a primary focus on arthroscopic reconstruction of knees and shoulders. His expertise includes anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions, shoulder dislocations and complex shoulder joint procedures, including shoulder replacements.
“I am particularly drawn to the complexity of the shoulder and enjoy helping patients regain optimal function through advanced surgical techniques,” he said.
Dr. Patel said he was inspired to pursue medicine by his grandfather’s early passing from lung disease.
“This loss motivated me to choose a career where I could make a meaningful impact, leading me to orthopedics, where I help people overcome injuries and regain active lifestyles,” he said.
Dr. Patel is welcoming patients at 2208 Three Lakes Pkwy., Ste. 200, in Tyler. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 903-594-2148.
